2024年国际暑期学校于7月22日到8月9日在复旦大学江湾校区举行。暑期学校聚焦RNA和遗传学、神经生物学这一生命科学的核心领域,并融合大数据、人工智能的科学前沿,设计了RNA和遗传学、神经生物学、进化与计算生物学三个课程模块,
暑期学校邀请了来自世界各地的34位在生命科学前沿领域工作的世界顶尖学者,其中包括8位美国科学院院士、3位美国艺术与科学院院士以及2位中国科学院院士,全英文集中讲授相关领域的前沿和热点。
暑期学校招收了245名中国学生和21名留学生。这些学生来自90所大学和机构,其中包括哈佛大学和牛津大学等世界知名大学。复旦的合作院校中,有同济大学的23名学生和澳门大学的12名学生参与其中。
除了白天的授课外,进化与计算生物学模块在每天的授课当晚安排了office hour,给了更多同学和著名学者一对一交流的机会。7月28日组织了文化参观活动,部分学生参观了自然博物馆、外滩、南京东路步行街和朱家角古镇,深入了解中国的文化和风俗,同时也促进了国际学生与中国学生之间的友谊和交流。
The 2024 International Summer School was held at Fudan University's Jiangwan Campus from July 22nd to August 9th.The program focused on core areas of life sciences—RNA biology and neuroscience—while integrating cutting-edge scientific frontiers such as big data and artificial intelligence. It featured three specialized course modules: RNA Biology, Neuroscience, and Evolution & Computational Biology.
The summer school invited 34 world-leading scholars working at the forefront of life sciences from across the globe, including 8 members of the US National Academy of Sciences, 3 members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. These experts delivered intensive, full-English lectures on the latest advancements and hot topics in their respective fields.
In addition to daytime lectures, the Evolution & Computational Biology module arranged nightly office hours on specific dates, providing students with opportunities for one-on-one discussions with renowned scholars. On July 28th, a cultural excursion was organized, where some students visited the Natural History Museum, the Bund, Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street, and Zhujiajiao Ancient Town. This activity offered an in-depth experience of Chinese culture and customs while fostering friendship and exchange between international and Chinese students.

本次暑期学校的第一、第二模块,使我了解了生物学的诸多研究进展,扩宽了知识面,印象尤其深刻的是罕见病的发病机制与治疗方法的最新进展。第三模块的课程内容是我读博期间的主攻方向,这一模块使我加深了对进化生物学、群体基因组学的理解。课程结束后,徐书华老师、谷迅老师等多位主讲人回答了我对课上内容的疑惑,给予了我构思新的研究方向的灵感。-

It was an amazing experience for my first time attending this summer school in Fudan. I appreciated all the talks but particularly benefited from Prof Jian Yang, Prof. Yi Xing, Prof. Shuhua Xu, and Prof Mark Stoneking talks. Furthermore, I am motivated by the prospect of making meaningful contributions to the field. After completing my studies, I plan to pursue a career in academia, where I can continue conducting innovative research and inspire future generations of scientists. I am eager to share the knowledge and expertise that I have learned in this summer school.
